The Outlayer - AI systems

Everyone has an AI strategy. Almost no one has an AI system.

Start with a fair question.

This whole practice - the site, the design, the content that reaches you - was built by one person.

I don't design. I don't write code.

I had the ideas, and I built the systems that built them.

The non-obvious move

The problem was never which tool. AI got treated as something to adopt, when it's something to build into how the work already moves.

A tool sits in a tab and waits for you. A system runs the work and brings you the decisions.

Take the content that reached you here. This is how it runs.

01
One agent reads the market
Tracks what's shifting in the space, so the work starts from what's actually happening, not a guess.
02
Another finds the demand
Surfaces the terms and topics people are actively searching, so nothing gets written into a void.
03
I decide what's worth saying
The calendar builds itself from those two. I approve the topic and the angle, the judgment stays mine.
04
It drafts, I finish
A detailed draft is generated, then I edit in the take and the voice. Only then does it publish.

Strategy that gets built

You're not buying AI. You're buying judgment that finally has a way to deliver.

The ideas are still the work. AI is what lets one person carry them from thought to live, the way this whole practice got built. That's what I build for you.

In plain terms

What an AI system really is.

An AI system is the practical machinery that turns AI into work that gets done, workflows that draft and sort and send, tools that help you decide, all run on your data and your rules. Marketing is where I apply it most, but the system is the point, not the department.

Start here

Tell me what's eating your hours.

No tool list in return. Just a straight read on the one system I'd build first, usually within a day.

Got it, it's with me.

I'll come back with a straight read on the one system I'd build first, usually within a day. No tool list, just the first move.

How this actually goes

Not a platform rollout. One system that runs, then the next.

Week 1
Find the drain. I look for the work eating the most hours for the least judgment, the part a system should be doing, not a person.
Weeks 2-4
Build one that runs. We deliver a single working system end to end, into your real tools, not a demo. It has to run on its own before we move on.
Then
Widen from proof. Once one holds, we build the next off the same spine, so they connect, instead of becoming six more subscriptions.
Ongoing
Judgment stays with you. The systems move the work. You and I stay on the decisions. That line never blurs.

In their words

What it's like to work together.

I connected with Abhishek Girdhar in early 2025 as part of launching my online healthcare marketplace. He was a trusted partner from the get go; never a vendor or a consultant just working on our ask. Abhishek was integral in assessing audience potential, stress-tested assumptions, and translated insights into clear decisions: brand identity locked, the right tech stack chosen, and a pragmatic marketing roadmap we can actually execute based on our brand vision. What I value most is his mix of enthusiasm, intelligence, and integrity. He’s approachable and realistic; tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear and then gets in the trenches to make it happen. Zero fluff, high accountability, steady delivery. With his expertise, we’re launching with confidence and a plan to scale, not scramble. If you’re building a brand or taking one to its next chapter, Abhishek is the person you want beside you; reliable, clear-thinking, and quietly relentless about outcomes.

Abhishek built Finance With Tarun from the ground up - website, content system, compliance framework, go-to-market strategy, and a fully automated content engine - with a level of care that's hard to find. He understood that as a financial educator, how I say things matters as much as what I say, and he built that discipline into every part of the platform, from brand positioning down to the automation that now keeps content flowing without compromising quality. Thoughtful, thorough, and genuinely invested in getting it right. I'd work with him again without hesitation.

We've run Expo for years - bringing universities, colleges, and students together across major Indian cities, and internationally in Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and the UAE. Our outreach was fully offline: SMS, hoardings, banners. It worked until digital took over, and we could feel the attention slipping. Abhishek rebuilt how we operate. He set up our website, built a proper lead generation engine, and moved our entire registration online. Students could register digitally, then scan a QR code at the venue to get their ID card and walk straight in. What stood out was that he understood the business, not just the marketing. He took a system that lived on the streets and made it work online. Our reach grew, our registrations grew, and our outreach finally matched how students actually behave today. He's the rare person who thinks and builds. If you want someone who can take an old-school operation into the digital world, he's the one.

Questions people ask

AI Systems, answered

What does an AI system for marketing actually do?

Takes real work off your team. It drafts, sorts, scores, routes, and sends the repetitive parts that eat a marketer's week, running on your data and your rules. You get the output without the hours, and the judgment behind it stays yours.

Is this the same as marketing automation?

It is the sharper version of it. Old marketing automation followed fixed rules: if this, then that. An AI system reads context and decides, so it handles the messy, judgment-heavy work the old tools could not touch. Same idea, far more of the job covered.

I already have tools. Do I need this?

Most teams have tools and no system. A pile of subscriptions that do not talk to each other is not automation; it is more tabs. What I build is the layer that makes them work as one, so the tools you already pay for finally earn it.

Where do you start?

With whatever is wasting the most of your time. I pick one real task, the thing that eats your week or keeps going wrong, and put a working system on that first. You see, it saves you time before we do anything more.

Will AI make my marketing generic?

Only if you let it run unsupervised, which I do not. The system does the volume; the taste and the calls stay with a human. Used right, AI clears the busywork so the thinking gets more of your attention, not less.

Do you build it, or just advise on it?

I build it. This practice runs on the systems I am describing, so you are not getting a slide on what is possible. You are getting the thing set up and running on your own stack.

Is this only for big teams?

Small teams need it more, not less. On a lean team, the work still has to get done; there is just no one to hand it to. A system becomes that extra pair of hands.
